Faith Walk: Praise the Lord

Everyone knows this. We should praise the Lord and thank Him faithfully. However, so many of us fail to do it.

Every day is a cause for rejoicing and praising Him. Praise Him for this day! “This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:24)

Paul said to the Thessalonians: “In everything give thanks (praise Him). This is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (1 Thess. 5:18)

Jesus healed ten lepers on one occasion. When they were healed, they went to show themselves to the priests because that was the protocol for them to return to society. Nine of them rushed away. Only one of them turned and paused to give thanks to the Lord Jesus for his healing!

Thankfulness by one out of ten may not be typical. I hope not. But it does illustrate the point that we can so easily receive wonders from the Lord and not take the time to praise Him for His blessings. At the least, let’s identify with the one person who took time to express his thankfulness the Lord for His powerful blessing of healing.

When Jesus was being praised by multitudes who were declaring Him to be the Son of God, the envious Pharisees called on Him to rebuke the people who were so loudly and joyfully praising Him. Jesus replied, “If these were silent, the very stones would cry out.” (Luke 19:40)

The Lord will be praised! If we leave it to others in His creation, we lose the benefits that come to us by our participation in exalted Him. We should join our voices and hearts with all He has created and praise His holy name.

Praise the LORD! Praise him according to his excellent greatness!

Psalm 150:1-2)

“Let everything that breathes, sing praises to the Lord.” (Psalm 150:6)

PRAISE THE LORD!!
