When ownership of automobiles was becoming widespread, many people said it would destroy the family and promote immorality. The same thing was said about television.

There are still many who think the Bible says that money is the root of all evil. It does not. It says the love of money is. (1 Timothy 6:10)

The point is that most things are not inherently good or bad. What determines their worth is how you use them.

One of the things that challenges us to make a right decision every day is the use of the Internet. As it is with almost everything else, the worth of the internet is determined by how you use it.

You can use the Internet in ways that are detrimental or in ways that are beneficial. On the Internet you can find many helpful and positive things and you can find things that are harmful and morally destructive.

Life is about decisions. You have the opportunity every day to make decisions that will lift you up or tear you down.

For many people, sitting down at their computer brings them that opportunity and challenge. Include in this Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and other sites I may not yet know.

I am dwelling on computers and the Internet because we need them for productivity in our daily lives. And every time some people sit down at their computer, they are challenged to make a moral decision.

There are many situations that provide us the opportunity to make uplifting value choices but I know of none that occur more frequently than our use of the ubiquitous Internet. It is not only on our computers but it is on our smartphones, iPads and laptops. That means it is available everywhere all the time.

It is a challenge for many people. Make your decisions that edify you and enforce the positive values that God wants instilled in you.
