ORANGE PARK – The Orange Park Medical Center announced the appointment of Pediatric Intensive Care Physician Dr. Manish Bajracharya as the hospital’s Pediatric Medical Director.

Dr. Bajracharya specializes in the treatment of hospitalized children for general pediatric inpatient care as well as pediatric intensive care. He brings more than seven years of pediatric care experience to the Clay County community by providing a broad range of services including hospital-based treatment of respiratory illness, sepsis or other infections, children hospitalized on a ventilator, children suffering from a traumatic injury, toxic or drug ingestions, post-operative care and more.

“It is extremely difficult to see a child fall sick, especially if it’s a life-threatening illness,” says Dr. Bajracharya. “I treat every child as if they are my own. I do everything I can to make sure every child gets the very best treatment possible."

Dr. Bajracharya joins Orange Park Medical Center from the University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque, where he served as Asst. Professor of Pediatrics. Prior to that, Dr. Bajracharya was at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas where he served in the same role. He is board-certified in general pediatrics and pediatric critical care medicine, received his medical degree from Nepal Medical College and Kathmandu University, completed his residency in pediatrics at Albany Medical Center and his fellowship in pediatric critical care medicine at UT Southeastern Medical Center. In addition, he also obtained an MBA from Wichita State University.

“Joining the Orange Park Medical Center team during a pandemic quickly showed me how skilled and dedicated our pediatric team is to the children of our community. Right now, parents have a lot of reservations around seeking medical care for their children but they can feel confident that we can give their children the care they need, close to home.”

Orange Park Medical Center offers a variety of pediatric services including a pediatric emergency room, inpatient care, critical care and orthopedic and general surgical care. The Orange Park Medical Center pediatric emergency room and inpatient units provide activities for all ages and a child-friendly patient environment to help reduce the anxiety of a trip to the hospital. For pediatric surgical needs, Orange Park Pediatric Surgery is conveniently located on the campus of Orange Park Medical Center and treats ages of children up to 17.

Dr. Barjracharya said, having a medical facility like Orange Park Medical Center in Clay County provides a personalized experience with short wait times in the emergency room, without having to go to downtown Jacksonville. This convenience helps ease the parent’s minds when faced with an emergency during this pandemic.
