Faith walk: Completion

From the Cross Jesus spoke powerful words. One of the most powerful things He said was “It is finished.” What does He mean by “it?”

It means the “once for all” offering to God for all the sins of man has been made. One has died as the sacrifice for the sins of all men for all time. “… by his own blood … He obtained eternal redemption for us.” (Hebrews 9:12)

Nothing else must be done to secure our salvation in the plan of God. Since the price for sin has been paid, we now can experience true salvation for eternity. God needs to do nothing else for our salvation. His plan is finished and it is in effect now.

Nothing needs to be added to the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. His plan is finished. It is done in totality.

Jesus paid it all,

All to Him I owe;

Sin had left a crimson stain,

He washed it white as snow.

Every person’s eternal salvation is only in Christ. We accept His sacrifice for us by God’s grace and by our faith and the result is salvation. “For by grace you have been saved through faith.” (Eph. 2:8)

“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” ~Rom. 10:9

God’s plan for salvation is this: Jesus died for everyone; therefore, everyone can be saved by faith in Him.

“…we have been sanctified (set apart and made holy) through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.” –Hebrews 10:10

Just as I am, without one plea,

But that thy blood was shed for me,

And that thou bidst me come to thee,

O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
