Students can register now for fall semester classes at SJR State

Registration is underway for the fall semester at St. Johns River State College.
The last day to apply for the full and A term is Aug. 9, and the final day for all registrations is Aug. 23.
The last day to apply for B term is Oct. 16 and registration must be completed by Oct. 18. B-term classes start on Oct. 21.

Four earn degrees at Valdosta State University


VALDOSTA, Ga. – Four local students recently received their degrees from Valdosta State University.
Orange Park’s Tessa Bates earned her Bachelor of Science in exercise physiology, while Kayla Carter earned a B.S. in athletic training, Miranda Hamilton earned a bachelor of arts in political science and Daniel Turknett got his Masters in Public Administration. Carter, Hamilton and Turknett all are from Green Cove Springs.

Orange Park’s Carter graduates from Springfield College

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Orange Park’s Andrew Carter recently earned his bachelor of science degree in business from Springfield College.
At the undergraduate commencement, 695 bachelor's degrees were awarded.

Ten leave Western Governors University with degrees

SALT LAKE CITY – Five former Fleming Island High students were part of a group of 10 from Clay County who recently graduated from Western Governors University.
Morgan Meyer earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing; Michele Bear earned her masters in Business Administration degree in healthcare management; Heather Paul earned her bachelor’s in nursing; Jason Saulsberry earned his masters in information technology management; and Cindy Meysenburg earned her bachelor’s in nursing.
Heather Rutledge and Amanda Carson earned their masters in nursing-leadership and management, while Chuchie Barnett earned her bachelor in accounting. All three are from Middleburg.
And Felicia Windham earned her bachelor’s in interdisciplinary studies and Todd Voiro earned his masters in business administration. Both are from Orange Park.
WGU has recognized 13,244 undergraduate and 8,930 graduate degree recipients, who have completed their degrees in the last six months. Their areas of study include business, K-12 education, information technology, and health professions, including nursing. The average time to graduation for those earning a bachelor's degree was 2 years, 4 months, while the average time to degree for graduate programs was 1 year, 7 months.
