SJR to host pair of Medical Assisting program information sessions
ORANGE PARK – St. Johns River State College will hold information sessions regarding its new Medical Assisting program on June 6 from 10-11 a.m. and 5:30-6:30 p.m. in room H1112 on the Orange Park campus.
This program will provide skills training in both administrative and clinical duties. The program prepares students for entry-level positions in a variety of healthcare settings, such as acute care hospitals, outpatient settings, ambulatory care facilities, medical offices and clinics.

Fleming Island’s Solomon makes Northeastern’s dean’s list
BOSTON – Northeastern University is pleased to recognize those students who distinguish themselves academically during the course of the school year.
Fleming Island’s Erin M. Solomon, a student majoring in communication studies/theatre, recently was named to the University's dean's list for the spring semester, which ended in April.
To achieve the dean's list distinction, students must carry a full program of at least four courses, have a quality point average of 3.5 or greater out of a possible 4.0 and carry no single grade lower than a C- during the course of their college career. Each student receives a letter of commendation and congratulation from their college dean.
In addition to achieving distinction through the dean's list, Solomon is a member of the University Honors Program, which offers high caliber students the chance to further hone their studies and interests, live in special interest on-campus housing, and participate in one or two honors courses each term. Invitation into the honors program is highly competitive and students must maintain a high GPA and strong commitment to campus leadership to remain a part.
Orange Park’s Robinson earns business administration/logistics degree
PARKVILLE, Mo. – Park University’s Tinker Air Force Base (Okla.) Campus held its
commencement ceremony on May 23 at the Community Learning Center Auditorium at Rose State College in Midwest City.
The University had 16 students eligible to participate in the ceremony – all 16 received a bachelor’s degree.
Orange Park High’s James Patrick Robinson graduated with a degree in Business Administration/Logistics.
Clay Extension Agent Olson gets master’s degree at South Dakota State
GREEN COVE SPRINGS – Matthew Olson, Clay County 4-H Extension Agent, received his Master’s Degree in Agricultural Education from South Dakota State University.
He is currently employed by the University of Florida, as the Clay County 4-H Extension Agent. Matthew is the son of Gerald and Linda Olson of Kingman, Ariz.
Clay trio on President’s List at Tallahassee Community College
TALLAHASSEE – Fleming Island High’s Andrea Miller and Orange Park’s Irina Struble and Sydney Peters all were named to the Spring 2019 President's List at Tallahassee Community College.
To qualify, students must earn a semester grade point average of 4.0.
Also, Anna Harward, Chase Moore, Kaeli Jenkins, Nicholas Ferendo and Valentina Rojas, all from Fleming Island, were placed on the Dean’s List with a minimum grade point average of 3.5.
