Retired Army major studying in Japan as Fulbright Scholar
ORANGE PARK – Nathan L. Ledbetter recently was selected as a Fulbright Scholar.
The son of Doug and Angie Ledbetter graduated from Orange Park High in 1994 and from Notre Dame in 1998. He retired as a U.S. Army major in 2016 and entered Princeton.
Ledbetter now will spend the next year as a doctoral student in Japan doing research on his dissertation on Japanese military history.
Walp receives business administration degree from Mercer
MACON, Ga. – Middleburg’s Brandon Walp recently was awarded his bachelor of business administration degree from Mercer University.
Founded in 1833, Mercer University is a dynamic and comprehensive center of undergraduate, graduate and professional education. The University enrolls more than 8,700 students in 12 schools and colleges.
Szafranski, McNeely graduate from North Greenville
TIGERVILLE, S.C. – Two local students graduated recently from North Greenville University.
Jaren Szafranski of Fleming Island got a degree in marketing, while Mary McNeely of Green Cove Springs graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in elementary education.
North Greenville, at the foothills of Glassy Mountain, is a co-educational liberal arts institution which provides opportunities for higher education in a biblically sound Christ-centered environment.
GCS’s Murphy lands on Nebraska’s Dean’s List
LINCOLN, Neb. – Green Cove Springs’ Renee Murphy recently earned a spot on the Dean’s List/Explore Center List of Distinguished Students at the University of Nebraska.
Murphy is a junior psychology and political science major.
To qualify for the College of Arts and Science’s Dean’s List, Murphy had a minimum 3.7 grade point average.
Terhaar earns faculty honors at Georgia Tech
ATLANTA – Hanna Hanna Terhaar of Orange Park earned the distinction of Faculty Honors for Spring 2019 at the Georgia Institute of Technology. This designation is awarded to undergraduate students who have a 4.0 academic average for the semester.
