GREEN COVE SPRINGS – Annie Sheldon Wallau, Director of UF/IFAS Extension Clay County, was honored recently at the National Extension Association for Family and Consumer Sciences 86th annual session, whose theme was “Life Elevated”. She received the NEAFCS Distinguished Service Award at the recent virtual conference.
In receiving the award, Annie was recognized her exemplary educational programs and commitment to leadership, public outreach, and engagement. Over the past 10 years her programs have focused on nutrition, food systems and healthy lifestyles with a large emphasis on worksite wellness, reaching more than 159,000 participants.
The NEAFCS Distinguished Service Award is the highest award presented by the National Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. The award recognizes members for leadership, outstanding program efforts and personal and professional development. Annie Sheldon Wallau‘s commitment to meeting the needs of individuals, families and communities is exemplary.
