GREEN COVE SPRINGS – Florida’s Atlantic Hurricane officially will start on Sunday, and the Clay County Board of County Commissioners and Division of Emergency Management want to help Clay County residents prepare with the newly revised All-Hazard Preparedness Guide included within this issue of the Clay Today.
The guide illustrates the county’s current evacuation zones and contains information concerning a wide range of preparedness topics, including how to prepare for hurricanes, floods, wildfires and tornadoes, extreme temperatures, influenza and active assailants. This year’s guide is also available in Spanish, copies can be obtained by calling The Division of Emergency Management at (904) 284-7703.
An electronic version of the 2020 All Hazards Preparedness Guide is also available on Clay County’s Emergency Management website alert.claycountygov.com. On this website, residents can register to receive emergency alerts, see their evacuation zone, and sign up for the county’s Special Medical Needs Registry.
Chairman of the Clay County Board of County Commissioners Gayward Hendry said, “In uncertain times like these, arming residents with information and strategies to protect their families and businesses is the best way to empower and strengthen our County. We are Clay County Strong, and we can get through any type of emergency together by planning and preparing.”
