KEYSTONE HEIGHTS—Early Saturday, Sept. 28, security at Keystone Heights RV Resort contacted Bradford County Sheriff's Office dispatch to report several suspicious males who were observed on camera climbing a perimeter fence to enter the private community.
Deputies immediately responded and began to search the area. Two getaway vehicles, one of which was stolen, were located staged just outside the resort, where three individuals were seen climbing the fence.
A perimeter was immediately set as additional deputies from BCSO and the Clay County Sheriff's Office began systematically canvassing and searching. Five suspects who were actively engaged in armed burglary were flushed out and fled back to the perimeter wall, which they scaled in an attempt to make their getaway.
During this time, the suspects were armed with four handguns, which they attempted to discard as law enforcement closed in on them.
However, deputies were prepared, and four were immediately detained while one was able to return to the resort, where he attempted to continue evading law enforcement. To keep the sleeping community safe, deputies remained relentless in their search, and the final suspect was successfully located and taken into custody.
Jessie Eugene Barnes, 18, Raymon Jakravis Campbell, 20, and Jayden Jayden Manns, 19, all of Gainesville, were charged with six counts of armed trespassing, possession of burglary tools, loitering and prowling and armed burglary. Two other suspects were arrested but were not identified because they are juveniles. The investigation is ongoing, and further charges are pending.
