PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBIT: “Gideon Mendel: Drowning World” runs from Sept. 1 to Dec. 9 at the MOCA, Museum of Contemporary Art in downtown Jacksonville. A public reception will be held Aug. 30 from 8-9 p.m. and the artist will be in attendance. The exhibit features photographs of Clay County residents whose homes were destroyed by the flooding on Black Creek during Hurricane Irma.
SEASON KICK-OFF: Art Guild of Orange Park begins its new season of programming with its Sept. 4 meeting at the Orange Lions Club at 423 McIntosh Ave. from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Artists Dee Roberts and Donna Grasso will offer art critiques at the meeting.
