KEYSTONE HEIGHTS - With the spring seasons eliminated from competition, there is a handful of senior athletes that been on the fields of play since freshman year.

These photos are some of those athletes (MORE TO COME) that grinded each of the last four years for their shot at a varsity roster.

Look for more in upcoming Clay Today Sports Pages.

1. Jessica Voigt, Clay High swim specialist, 15th in region 1-2A in 200 freestyle, 10th in 100 breast and leadoff leg of 4 x 100 free relay that finished fifth.

2. Anna Magruder, Ridgeview High cross country and track, finished 18th in district 4-2A as a freshman in 22:52.39 to just miss a region ticket, 17th as a sophomore in 21:18.98, 25th as a junior in 23:43.45 and 15th as a senior in district 2-3A in 21:34.52 to earn her first region ticket. Magruder finished 30th at region 1-3A in 21:21.31.

3. Tyler Thomas, Keystone Heights High golf, made regions as an eighth grader with a 98 and continued up the scoring scale to finish his senior campaign wiht a third in district 3-1A 85 score as he led the Indians to a district title over St. Johns Country Day School. Thomas improved five strokes (80) at the region championships and finished as Keystone Heights top finisher. The Indians finished eighth of 12 teams.

4. Reagan Crosby, Fleming Island High swimming, finished 16th in the 200 individual medley in 2:38.63 as a freshman, 20th in the 100 free in 1:00.91; 12th in the 100IM in 2:10.64 as a sophomore with a 58.06 for 13th in the 100 free; 2:08.14 in the 200IM as a junior with a 56.74 split for ninth in the 100 free with a Class 3A senior campaign of 58.13 for 100 free for eighth and on the third place 4 x 100 free relay team.

5. Jalen Rivers, Oakleaf High football, track, weightlifting, put the bulk in his game with an All-American nod as a massive 300-pound offensive tackle (now at University of Miami) that smashed enemy defenders in front of Va. Tech running back Keshawn King in a region playoff run for the Knights and a Class 4A state champion shotputter with his winning throw on his last throw (54'-4"). Rivers threw 47'-6.5" for seventh in district as a freshman.

6. Emma Richard, Fleming Island High volleyball and basketball, emerged as a supremely athletic part of both teams who quickly added a new element of play with her jumping ability and footspeed. Richard, as a freshman, was sixth man player for the Golden Eagles region semifinal run followed by a second region semifinal as a sophomore.

As a senior last year, Richard was integral in a district volleyball title and a region playoff spot after a region final finish as a junior.

7. Macie Faucett, Orange Park High volleyball and basketball, was a scrappy, diving backline defender for volleyball and an equally airborne chaser on basketball for coach Fred Coles.

8. Colby Townsend, Keystone Heights High football, soccer, weightlifting was the player that football coach Chuck Dickinson wished would have come out for football as a freshman instead of his final two years. Townsend was a hard-running pounding ball carrier for football as well as a vicious tackler. Townsend was equally adept at manipulating around defenders on a soccer pitch to either score or find teammate Dean Hogg, who finished with a school record 47 goals. As a weightlifter, Townsend was seventh as a junior at 219 and would have probably medal as a senior.

9. Brody Senn, Middleburg football, weightlifting, was strong, agile and a ball-finding missile for Bronco football.

10. Jose Paolo Garcia, Ridgeview cross country and track, was number finisher for Panthers at region 1-3A with an 18:25.02 split. Paolo Garcia improved from a 20:03.64 time as a freshman at his district race.
